We welcome customer meter reads. You can avoid a calculated bill and more closely monitor your actual usage each month by reading your meter yourself. Choose the method that is most convenient:

• Phone: 1-800-221-0051 (follow prompts 3, 3, 3)
• Fax:  732-370-4564

The process is easy. Follow these three steps:

1. To get started, you’ll need to know your read cycle. If you don’t know your read cycle, login to My Account Information and obtain your read cycle from the Meter section, or send us an e-mail at meterreading@njng.com with your name, address and/or NJNG account number, and we will respond with your specific information.
2. Click and view the meter read schedule that corresponds with your READ CYCLE.  The schedule will tell you when, how and where to submit your read.
3. Your next bill will then be based on actual usage.

Note:  If you decide not to read your own meter, you’ll receive calculated bills during the interim months when NJNG does not read your meter.
