Monthly Meter Reading - NEW!
Great news! You asked for monthly meter reading and it's on the way. During 2009, we will be transitioning to monthly meter reading throughout our service territory.
When your meter is read monthly, your natural gas bills will reflect your actual usage, which means fewer estimates and more accurate bills. This is another value-added service brought to you by NJNG.
In June 2009, our meter readers began following newly designed routes to increase efficiency and the number of natural gas meters read each month. We chose the summer season to implement this plan, as it will have less of an impact on your bill.
In order to accomodate these new routes, your monthly billing date may change sometime this summer. For some customers, it may even change twice. Once the project is complete, all future bills will be mailed around the same date each month.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause initially, and look forward to providing you with improved service for many years to come.
Access to Your Meter
NJNG needs access to your meter in order to read it. Please keep your shrubs trimmed and your dog restrained when our meter reader visits. If your meter is in your house or is inaccessible, please call us to make special arrangements. If our meter readers can’t obtain a reading, they’ll leave a meter read form for you to fill out. The form explains how you can read your meter.
