By offering high-efficiency equipment rebates and building-design incentives, we can help commercial customers bring down the cost of installing energy-efficient equipment and features in new construction, renovations, additions, remodeling, equipment replacement or manufacturing process improvements.

Direct Install, the newest program offered under NJ SmartStart Buildings, was created for existing small to mid-sized commercial and industrial facilities with a peak electric demand that did not exceed 200 kilowatss (kW) in any of the preceding 12 months. A turnkey solution, Direct Install will evaluate, update and replace outdated equipment with energy-efficient alternatives and pay up to 80 percent of the cost!  For more information on this program click here or call 1-866-NJSMART.

Here's how SmartStart can help:

• Cash rebates are available for installing pre-qualified energy-efficient equipment such as gas furnaces and boilers, water heaters and booster water heaters, gas absorption chillers and desiccant systems.
• You may also receive incentives for other types of energy-efficient equipment. We can work with you to provide technical assistance and identify qualifying equipment.
• For larger-scale projects, our marketing consultants can suggest ways to improve the overall efficiency of your building design and identify opportunities to benefit from design incentives. This consultation is a FREE service provided to existing and prospective customers of New Jersey Natural Gas.
