About the Route

The Southern Reliability Link (SRL) will support the safe, reliable, resilient distribution of natural gas to 83 municipalities throughout Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington counties, benefiting over one million people. Ensuring a responsible route that minimizes the impact to homeowners, communities and the environment is a top priority. As is its right in accordance with NJSA 48:9-25.4, Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth County, has identified a practical alternative within its municipal borders to the route proposed by New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG). Having thoroughly assessed this alternative and determined that it is practicable, NJNG submitted an amended petition to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities with this adjustment to the SRL route. Accordingly, the SRL will no longer be located on Arneytown-Hornerstown and Millstream Roads; instead, it will follow Province Line Road and a further distance along Route 537. This modification will increase the overall length of the project to approximately 30-miles. A map of the updated route is provided
