Energy assistance

Payment Assistance Programs

Hello and welcome to the NJNG Energy Assistance information page! Our team is committed to assisting you with your energy needs.

Whether you are faced with temporary or unexpected circumstances or on a limited income, you have options. NJNG also offers no-interest, flexible payment arrangements to help you catch up on your energy bills.

Please note the energy assistance programs below* are implemented through state-designated Community Action Partnership (CAP) agencies.  Apply for assistance at a CAP agency near you, or call the N.J. Infoline at 2-1-1. (En español, aquí.)

Check your mailbox. You may have received a letter from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA), stating you may qualify for relief of your overdue balance.

With the grace period for paying overdue utility bills expiring at the end of December, DCA recommends you apply for aid now.

If you received a letter, you can use your cellphone to scan the QR code and you’ll be taken to a state website to apply for utility relief. The deadline to apply has been extended (from the original November 4 date indicated in the DCA letter). Alternately, you can apply here
