Builder Information & Conversions

Our NJNG Marketing Services team is introducing a new spot lot homebuilder natural gas service application process. Our goal is to provide professional and timely service to satisfy your project requirements and needs.

To simplify the process, the following applies:

Fill out a Homebuilder Preliminary Service Inquiry Form. This form is CRITICAL to the process. It notifies NJNG that you are planning to build a new home. Upon receiving your building permit application, please complete all applicable information and fax it to NJNG Marketing Services at 732-919-8081. In addition to the form, include a copy of your plot plan of the property, indicating the preferred location for the natural gas service and meter location. Please be advised that service lines are installed at right angles to the curb terminating at the front corner of the building. If it is necessary for the service line to enter the side of the building, it may be parallel to the foundation at a maximum of five (5) feet at no charge. The company will determine the safest available service location. 

Upon receipt of the inquiry form, a marketing consultant will contact you to verify the information and provide you with service availability, timing of installation and any associated construction and/or street opening permit fees. When appropriate, a field appointment will be made at the site to complete a natural gas service application.   

Please review the Natural Gas Service and Meter Set Requirements. This provides simple, yet important information on planning and scheduling your natural gas meter set. Our goal is to complete the meter set on our first visit. If a second appointment is necessary, you will be invoiced for any time related to an unproductive visit.
