Customer Charge
This fee covers a portion of NJNG's costs to serve our customers, including mailings, taxes, system maintenance and record keeping.
Delivery Charge (DEL)
This fee is for the delivery of gas and the maintenance of the distribution system. It also includes approved price adjustments related to balancing gas deliveries, variances from normal weather and societal benefits programs such as environmental improvements and New Jersey's Clean Energy Program.
Basic Gas Supply Service (BGSS)
This fee is for the cost of natural gas supply to those customers who have not chosen a third-party supplier. The cost of natural gas is incurred by NJNG and is directly passed on to our customers. NJNG makes no profit on the BGSS charge. For residential customers, this price represents the "price to compare."
Demand Charge
This fee covers a portion of NJNG's fixed costs to serve large commercial customers.
